1. EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE

David is excited to get to know you and your story. He understands that everyone is unique and that counselling is not a one-size-fits-all process. His caring heart and curious brain have led to a study of personality and human behavior which he utilizes to help as many people as possible to function in a healthy manner. His goal as a counsellor is to facilitate the discovery of self and use this insight as a platform to enact meaningful change. He has spent three years working as a counsellor with a focus on trauma recovery

David’s areas of practice include:

  • Trauma Recovery
  • Anxiety / Depression
  • Personality Disorders
  • Understanding Personality (Understanding Self & Others)
  • Youth
  • Anger Management
  • Distress Tolerance
  • Identity
  • Self-Esteem
  • Couple’s Counselling

2. PROFESSIONAL CREDENTIALS

3. WORLDVIEW AND COUNSELLING PERSPECTIVE

David’s worldview is heavily influenced by his relationship with God and his Christian faith. His counselling perspective is largely in line with the perspective of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) which is a mindfulness-based therapy that is underpinned by the belief that our natural human desire is to avoid hardship and this avoidance actually leads to more hardship in life. David believes the ultimate goal of counselling is to enact meaningful change.
