1. EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE
Laura’s goal as a counsellor is to create a warm, fully attentive, and non-judgmental space where children, teens, adults, and couples can safely process difficult emotions, develop new perspectives, and reconnect with what brings fulfilment to life. Her experience in providing mental health services focuses on managing anxiety and stress, trauma recovery, alleviating difficulties with depression and mood concerns, addictions recovery, and supporting clients in navigating relationship challenges and life transitions. She has spent over 10 years in coaching roles as a personal trainer and karate instructor. She was involved with a women’s recovery centre for several years supporting women as they recovered from addictions.

2. PROFESSIONAL CREDENTIALS
Laura is an RCC (registered clinical counsellor) and also has her CCC designation. She has an honours BA in English and Psychology and a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology. She also has a post-graduate diploma in addiction treatment and prevention and a Trauma-informed cognitive behavioural therapy certificate.
3. WORLDVIEW AND COUNSELLING PERSPECTIVE
Laura’s approach to counselling centres on joining with people with compassion, empathy and respect to create a safe environment to strengthen resilience, overcome barriers, and find freedom to live a meaning-filled, purposeful life. She believes we all have God-given strengths and resources to shift perspectives, to heal emotionally and to flourish in our own unique ways – counselling simply allows people the time and space to re-discover these resources and to build from their internal strengths. She continually seeks God’s wisdom and guidance as she integrates a variety of strategies including a person-centred approach, narrative therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, trauma-informed cognitive behavioural therapy and solution-focused therapy to facilitate the journey toward healing and whole-hearted living.
4. COUNSELLING INFORMATION
Counselling In-Person or Skype/Zoom Sessions available.
Session length: 50 minutes
Cost: $125
5. PAYMENT FOR SERVICES
Payment is due at the time of the session by cash or cheque or by e-transfer by the end of the day. Make cheques payable to Laura Gardham
Cancellation Fee: With notification of less than 24 hours, clients agree to pay a cancellation fee equal to a full session.
